You had me right up to health care. Because I think the government does do a good job with military heath care and (except in cases of overcrowding) vetran's health care.

Also, working in the field I see the barrier insurance companies put up to deter, delay and deny health care. The doctors should be able to give people the treatment required for the condition and the answers shouldn't change based on what insurance company the person has. Did you know some companies have GAG ORDERS on certain procedures - doctors aren't allowed to tell their clients about it.

Also the public is so worried about health care being rationed with a government plan, but some insurance companies do the exact same thing - and give doctors incentives not to run tests, offer treatment, etc...

Don't even get me started on wait times.....

<feels tap on the sholder> Lynn, this is not your blog! Get out of here.

Okay -thanks for letting me get up on my soapbox!

Another example of senseless spending. It's got to stop at some point. I might also add that this shows that you don't have to be smart to be a politician.

That is ridiculous. What really bothered me with cash to clunkers, aside from the massive waste of $2B, is that while it created a temporary pop in car sales, it was just that - temporary. I believe all this did was artificially inflate demand and didn't even do much to create demand for vehicles made by the TWO car companies we happen to own as taxpayers. And while I would support healthcare reform, I can't support the cluster that is currently being proposed because those proposing it don't even have a legitimate bill to sell us. The sum total is a fiscal nightmare that could take generations to recover from if we aren't careful.

Congress is out of control with the spending of our money and that is exactly why they are out of control. It's our money that they are spending like water. They have almost unlimited access to it. They would not spend their own family budgets this irresponsibly. They treat our money like monopoly money and can not be trusted with it. I believe this is why the 'tea parties' have become so popular.
