Stupid Is As Stupid Does

I was sent this in an e-mail and thought I would share:

What have we learned in 2,064 years?

“The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work,  instead of living on public assistance.”

  Evidently nothing.

Happy Tuesday!

  • Wow that was good. I must find a way to verify the quote.

I get what you're saying, but in Texas people are working & still can't get health care. According to Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison 48 percent of Texas employers offer no health care insurance. Her solution is tax credits?!? One in four Texans have no health insurance and that's the best our elected officials can come up with? We have to demand more. Republicans say: let the free market & tax credits take care of the problem. Democrats say: Let the government do it & spend more. Come on. No more pat answers. Let's find some middle ground & help all Americans get the coverage their families need.
  • It's scary how things are fundamentally the same over time, and that those same wisdoms can be ignored quite frequently.
